Satyagraha - A multi-starrer movie with a bad plot

Satyagraha is a Bollywood flick directed by Prakash Jha, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Amrita Rao, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpai. The movie revolves around two friends – Ajay Devgn and Indraneil Sengupta, who are very different from each other in terms of personalities. Indraneil is like his father who believes in working for the country and bringing in change in the political system of the nation where as Ajay Devgn is business minded and believes in making quick money. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of Indraneil father and is a teacher who is very depressed with the indian political system & wants to do something for everyone in his gaon (village). Amrita Rao is Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter-in-law and Ajay Devgans sister-in-law. Arjun Rampal is just there for appearance, just like Amrita Rao and doesn’t have any major role to play. Kareena is a journalist who falls in love with Ajay Devgn eventually. The funny part is, in between all the hush h...

Delhi Belly

A typical boyish movie, about 3 friends & their “****iyapantis”, sorry for using an abusive word in the introduction itself; but then I didn’t quite really like the movie.   I would rate this movie 2 on a scale of 10. I saw the one that was dubbed in hindi. The movie didn’t quite seem to entertain me as it lacked story and concept. The only USP of the movie, I believe was the song Bhag D.K Bose. Besides that, delhi belly is full of filth & abuses. The movie is an absolute mirror image of how guys, when independent, live in a gross manner, with food, clothes and shit lying right at the same place where they doze off at night. Be it due to lack of money, job or anything else.

The movie revolves around three friends, who live in a small one room apartment, which is absolutely gross. The guys are very typical, lazy & screwed up in their respective jobs & personal life. Delhi Belly might have worked at the box office only because of the profanity used in the movie & due to the pre-release marketing strategies. Besides from the vulgarity, the movie displays a perfect picture of the personality & attitude delhi guys & girls carry.

Apart from the negative pointers, the characters played by every actor in the movie if good. Every actor has done justice to his/her role, be it Imran Khan, Vir Das, Poorna Jagannathan, Kunaal Roy Kapur or Shenaz Treasurywala. All of them have immersed themselves into the skin of the character & done justice to it. The writer has given equal share of importance to each one in script.

For aspiring directors, this movie is a must watch, Abhinay Deo has done an amazing job with respect to direction. Besides direction & characters, the songs in the movie are nice too.

So to sum it up, movie would be fun to watch for people who are bold and outrageous, who love to watch movie for the sake of it, not for entertainment or to learn. This movie has no take home whatsoever.

More to come on other movies, Happy Reading

THE DIRTY PICTURE

Oo La la Oo la la, Yes i simply love that song and i simply loved the movie too. The story of the movie is very typical, rags to riches and then fall down. However, what i loved about the movie, is the acting, Vidya Balan is absolutely fabulous, with her strong bindaas character & “I care a damn” attitude. The movie revolves around the story of a B-grade movie actress who believes that the entertainment industry loves skin shows, skimpy clothes, horny expressions & fleshy body& people want and like to see all of this on screen. She believes that she has the power rule the glamour world just by her looks & expressions, which she indeed does. She reaches the peak of success but is unable to manage it. She experiences love, lust, betrayal, jealousy, confidence, faith, regret & guilt and finally gives up on her life. She lives her life her way, by her rules & dies her way too... The dialogues of the movie are filthy but very well delivered; also bappi da has do...

Fukrey (2013)

I don’t understand why would Farhan Akhtar produce such a movie? I would rate the movie 3/ 10. It made no sense. The movie stars Pulkit Sharma, Manjot Singh, Varun Sharma, Ali Faizal, Richa Chadda, Vishakha Singh and Priya Anand. The movie begins with Pulkit Sharma and Varun Sharma talking some non-sense about college girls and their dream of entering college as they have been failures throughout their lives; right from failing in 1 st Std. Next scene is about Manjot Singh praying and wanting the same thing, entering college just because his so-called girlfriend studies in that college, who apparently is cheating on him. The third guy, Ali Faizal is some wandered who keeps on wandering around the college campus like some nomad. By the way nobody is allowed within the college campus but this guy Ali Faizal is allowed, nobody knows why and how. Then there is Bholi Punjaban, Richa Chadda, who is a an amazingly audacious chiq wanting to kill the world for money. Pulkit is a super s...
